These two have been together for 10 years--since high school! His vision was to propose by the water in Old San Juan during their trip to Puerto Rico. It had been raining almost every day for about three weeks straight, so we were nervous about the weather cooperating for us and planned out an indoor option as a backup. Good news! It didn't rain! However, some TV personality was in town and caused a major traffic jam that delayed their arrival by about 30 minutes. They arrived to his chosen proposal spot with just a few minutes of sunset left. He dropped to one knee and proposed just as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was so much fun to be in on the surprise! I arrived before them and hung out near the proposal spot with my camera, pretending to be a tourist taking photos of the sunset. When they got in place, I turned my camera towards them. He proposed at the end of the Floating Platform on the west side of Old San Juan, along the Paseo del Morro, near the iconic Puerta de San Juan. Since we ran out of sunlight, we took a few indoor shots at the Hotel El Convento as well.
